My cousin in law has a manual 330ci which having sat in on a few occasions, I'm quite impressed to be honest. Low down torque is pretty decent and the sound of that NA 3.0 6-pot is one of the best around - particularly with the performance exhaust. The weight difference between the 330ci and the 5-dr 130i is only about 50kg - I believe.
Also it's a much newer engine, BMW only stopped making it last year. Problem with the 330i is that they are quite rare and therefore not much cheaper than the 335i. Yeah i've noticed 335i's are quite cheap, im not too bothered about the body style lci or not, mainly concerned with the engine and the options.
A used 2023 BMW 3 Series 330i ranges from $38,360 to $51,591 while a used 2023 BMW 4 Series 430i is priced between $42,043 to $55,387. For a new model, the BMW 3 Series 330i's price is between $46,334 and $54,041, with the BMW 4 Series 430i priced between $49,170 and $59,064.
third, all cars are not the same. a 330i is not a 330i. independent of other factors such as miles on an engine, maintanence, gasoline octane in the tank (which i still think makes a difference when your goal is peak performance, not anti-knock), cars within a model range, e.g. the 330i zhp, aren't created equal. some owners luck-out with an

Still the E90 is heavier than the E46. I don't know which engine the 2007+ 328 got (the '06 330 or 325 - but likely the 255hp version), and if that's the case it would be quicker. Still, in my opinion, the only E90 I'd consider over our E46 (especially ZHP) would be the 335 sedan and coupe. Performance differences between 328 and E46 330 are I'm interested in purchasing a 2001 330ci with 57k miles and the seller claims its misfiring on cylinder 2. He claims he bought the wrong ignition coils and claims he bought ignition coils for a 325i. My question is if there is a difference between between the m54b30 and m54b25 where they take different ignition coils. OP, I’d split the difference and get the 330i M Sport. It’s larger, more capable, and about the same weight as an M135i. 300 lb lighter than the porky M340i. Same drivetrain as the M135i, but detuned. The M3 was a '99 5-speed convertible, and the 330Ci was a non-SP (yeah, the difference is only in the wheels) with steptronic. I want a coupe with a stick and with the SP if it's the 330. I drove the M3 about two weeks before I drove the Ci. TX8R.
