If that's the case then getting a diopter for the viewfinder to get you in range of the manual adjustment might be the way to go. Manual focusing (without relying on the AF indicators) is difficult with cameras such as the 20D or XT anyway because of the style of focus screen supplied with the camera, and the viewfinders are a bit dim
Ok, I own a Rebel t3i. Everytime I look in the viewfinder, it's blurry. However the picture comes out crisp. It isn't the diopter adjusment. Sometimes when I hold the camera up and wiggle it, the viewfinder will be clear for a couple seconds, then it'll go back to being blurry. There aren't any came
The Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II is a pocket camera that will make enthusiasts happy, with a solid zoom range, a 1-inch sensor, and an electronic viewfinder. Menu #CES2024
Rachael you have it right. If the small ridge is in the middle, the adjustment is zero. Moving it towards the plus sign adds diopter adjustment (i.e. +1) and towards the minus sign subtracts (i.e. -1). I don't think the wheel moves all the way around so in order to reset it, just move it to the zero position. Tony
Rebel XS - Diopter/Viewfinder out of focus. 12-26-2014 02:50 PM. My well used Rebel XS dropped from about 5 feet and now the eye-piece is out of focus, however it still takes perfectly focused pictures. It will come back into focus by tipping the camera upwards slightly - you can hear a slight "flap". I took out the focus plate out and reset it
